Freelance tax filing gets messy when receipts and invoices are scattered across the year instead of tracked as you go. Before filing, gather: every invoice you issued, proof of business expenses (software subscriptions, a portion of internet/phone bills, equipment), and any advance tax already paid. Common missed deductions include home-office costs and professional development courses. Keeping a running log throughout the year — rather than reconstructing it in March — is the single biggest time-saver at filing time.
